Thinka v2345 Stable Released
Bas Van Der Hoek ·
We wanted to bring you up-to-date on what is included in the latest Thinka v2.345 release. This version introduces the following new features and fixes:
Highlights
- New Energy Dashboard. Connect to a P1 smart meter over a serial cable or TCP to get electricity and gas data. Then see where the electricity went, a breakdown per device and the estimated cost based on your own tariff.
- Vacation Mode. Your usual HomeKit activity is learned and replayed while you're away. Of course locks and window coverings are never replayed.
- KNX IP/Secure. Integrate directly with ETS over a secure connection with a management password.
- Redesigned interface. With a fresh overview page, a new menu bar and settings navigation. Phones now get a proper layout with a drawer menu and an icon rail.
KNX
- Automatic discovery: Opt-in to watch the KNX bus and probes new devices, then automatically suggests group addresses and devices it finds.
- The KNX accessory configuration page has been rebuilt. The ETS parser now handles older catalogues.
- Fixed precision for DPT 9 values, for example 24.08 °C instead of 24.080000000000002.
- Added DPT 10 and DPT 11 (time and date).
Z-Wave
- Supports Long Range, with SmartStart covering both classic and Long Range radios.
- Inclusion is faster: devices are interviewed in the background. S2 grant and DSK handling is fixed for the iOS setup app.
- Z-Wave backup and restore is available, including moving to a new controller.
- Controller chip firmware can now be updated from within Thinka.
- Reliability improvements:
- HomeKit scenes are paced so they don't overload the controller.
- Thinka detects when the radio stops responding and when nodes flood the network.
- Reachability is reported live, and a lost network is announced when it drops and when it comes back.
- Nodes no longer get wrongly marked unreachable, and keep their identity after a failed re-interview.
- Fixed thermostat issues, including lost Thermostat services and the current temperature showing the wrong sensor.
- New device features:
- Slat (tilt) position on window coverings.
- Each command class can be configured on its own.
- New network page: RF health assessment, route rebuild and a network graph.
Energy / P1
- Reads Dutch, Belgian, Luxembourg and Swedish smart meters, plus older P1 formats.
- New connection settings for serial and TCP. A meter can be disconnected, and its data deleted.
Internet connected Thinka's upgrade automatically at night. To update your Thinka manually, make sure it has an internet connection and click the Upgrade button on the Settings page.
