We are excited to announce that KNX IP Secure support is now available to Thinka for KNX.

KNX IP Secure is the part of the KNX standard that protects the network connection itself. Where KNX Data Secure secures the communication to individual group addresses, KNX IP Secure protects the KNX/IP tunnels that other systems open to Thinka: every frame is encrypted, and every client is authenticated before it reaches the bus.

As more smart homes and commercial buildings adopt secure-by-design networking practices, protecting the interface itself, and not only the devices behind it,
has become a common requirement in project specifications. KNX IP Secure is the KNX standard's solution, and Thinka now supports it on its own KNX/IP interface.

Thinka generates its own credentials and shows them in its web interface, ready to be copied into ETS or any other configuration tool. ETS asks for a commissioning password
and a device authentication code; both are on the page, in the order ETS asks for them.

Thinka offers four simultaneous secure connections, each with its own individual address on the bus, so ETS, a visualization and a home automation system can be
connected at the same time and remain distinguishable in a group monitor. The addresses can be adjusted to fit the topology of the project. You can find further information here.
