New Feature: Intelligent Presence Simulation for Thinka for KNX
We're excited to introduce Intelligent Presence Simulation for Thinka for KNX, making it easier than ever to give your home a naturally lived-in appearance while you're away.
Instead of relying on fixed schedules or predictable timers, Thinka learns from how your home is actually used. During the previous week, it records HomeKit-originated actions performed by you, members of your Home, or your Home automations. These recurring actions are grouped into a daily playback plan.
When you enable Vacation Mode, Thinka replays these familiar patterns with small random timing variations, ensuring actions never occur at exactly the same minute every day. The result is a realistic simulation of everyday life that is far more convincing than traditional timer-based solutions.
Two Modes to Match Your Needs
Easy Mode focuses on the most visible signs of an occupied home by replaying only:
- Lights
- Blinds and shades
Expert Mode extends the simulation by also replaying:
- Switches
- Smart outlets
- Thermostats
- Other supported, non-security accessories that Thinka has learned from your home's normal activity
Safety by Design
Presence Simulation only replays safe HomeKit actions. Security-related accessories are never included, regardless of the selected mode.
The following device types are always excluded:
- Doors
- Windows
- Locks
- Garage doors
- Security systems
- Valves
- Cameras
Your Home, Your Rules
Thinka gives you full control over what is replayed. The recorded actions from the past week are presented as an easy-to-review daily plan, allowing you to customize the simulation before you leave.
You can:
- Review every recorded action.
- Exclude individual actions you don't want replayed.
- See the typical Time Range for each action based on the past week's activity.
- Preview Next At, showing exactly when each action is scheduled to be replayed.
By combining your home's real activity patterns with subtle random timing, Thinka creates a natural and believable presence simulation that helps your home appear occupied while you're enjoy your time away.
