How Do I Configure My Window Covering?

Looking to set up your smart window coverings? Whether you have blinds, shades, curtains, or sun screens, configuring your window coverings with Thinka is simple and flexible. Here’s how to get started:

  • Alexa Users: Window coverings appear as a switch. Turn the switch off (0%) to fully close and on (100%) to fully open. Slat position is not supported at this time.
  • Google Home Users: Control your window coverings by voice only, due to app limitations. Slat position is also not currently supported.

Actuator With Position Status Object

For the most precise control, use a KNX actuator that provides a current position status (0-100%). Select “Absolute Position (0..100%)” and enter the group address for the status object and your preferred control method:

  • Target position (1-byte, 0-100%) for full flexibility
  • Long move up/down (1-bit, up/down) for simple open/close control
  • For blinds with slats, add both current and target slat position addresses.

Actuator Without Position Status Object

No position status? No problem! Select “No status feedback”, then set the movement time for open/close operations. Enter the long move up/down (1-bit) group address. For blinds with slats, provide the current and target slat position addresses here as well.
